From Frozen to Fresh: A Guide to Warming Up Finger Foods Farm Frozen Soups
If you are new to the world of frozen soups, there is no need to be intimidated. Turning your frozen jar into a steaming bowl of fragrant freshness can happen in just a few simple steps.
Instructions
- Thaw the Soup:
Take the soup out of the freezer.
- If you want to eat the soup in a few hours (i.e. if it is the morning and you want to eat the soup for lunch or dinner), leave it out on the counter until about 30 minutes before meal time.
- If you want to eat the soup the next day, thaw it overnight in the refrigerator. In the morning, if the soup is still very frozen, leave it out on the counter until you are ready to eat.
- If you want to eat it ASAP, skip to step 2.
- (Optional): If the soup is still too frozen to slip out of the jar, put the soup in a large bowl of warm water.
- Heat the Soup: Once the soup has thawed enough to slip out of the container (sometimes this takes a little squeezing and patting of the jar), pour it into a saucepan. Heat over medium, stirring periodically, until it begins to simmer.
- Enjoy: Once it is has a gentle simmer or desired heat, add any additional fixings and enjoy!
Pro Tip
When you are heating the soup, keep the lid on until the soup has fully thawed and no longer has any solid frozen chunks. And don’t forget to stir periodically.
AVOID MICROWAVING SOUP IN ITS ORIGINAL CONTAINER.
